Lots of barrage projects from government is the main reason of their habitat loss. South Asian River Dolphins are live in fresh water. Water ways transportation, pools, barrage over Ganga river increased by a significant numbers. River dolphins have been killed for unethical fishing practice and poaching for money making .If human interaction remain for few more years then they definitely extinct . River dolphin is one the most incredible creature on earth. It enjoy catching fish and uprising and diving on water all the day. One of the most loving subject for any wildlife photographer. They are very sporty by nature. It doesn't any harm to human-beings. Unfortunately local people beside riverside still not aware about this fact. River dolphin's nose are pointed unlike some other species of dolphin. It's teeth are very sharp which are visible when it comes out from water but it gives very less time to photograph. Often they are found in those areas of river where Smooth coated otter fishing. Some time they jump quite high but generally they just comes out from water for better inhalation.
